Carmyllie Villages

Many visitors to the parish are looking for a village called Carmyllie, as in Arbirlot parish there is a village of Arbirlot and in St Vigeans, there is a village of the same name also.

There is no village named Carmyllie but there are two villages in the parish, Greystone and Redford.

Greystone in the west of the parish is the oldest village, nestled in a hollow, relatively sheltered from the north and east and near to the Kirkbuddo parish boundary.

Redford village, on the east side of the parish, grew in size due to the quarry industry and the railway connection.
